Aurex in Action
Four real questions. Four real answers.
No narration. No scripted demo environment. Just Aurex — with a real product catalog, real queries, and the kinds of decisions your team makes every day.
Situation
A part number from a contractor spec turns out to be invalid. A wrong part ordered is a project delay. Aurex catches the error immediately and doesn't leave the user stranded.
What Aurex does
- Validates the part number against the live catalog in real time and immediately identifies the error
- Surfaces alternative options that satisfy the same application — not just a generic list
- Answers a follow-up performance comparison between the alternatives, then guides the user to a final selection and adds it to the cart
Source-grounded
Every answer comes from your catalog documents — not from general AI knowledge. Aurex only knows what's in your spec sheets.
Context-aware
"Remodel project" becomes a configuration flag. "3.5 inch hole" triggers a dimensional check. Aurex reads intent, not just commands.
Completion-driven
Aurex knows when an order is incomplete and asks for exactly what's missing — voltage, dimming protocol, housing — nothing more.
Common questions
How does Aurex answer a product question?
When a user asks a question, Aurex searches the indexed catalog for the most relevant documents, extracts the specific passages that address the question, and constructs an answer that cites the source. The process takes seconds. Every claim in the answer can be traced back to a specific document and section.
What kinds of questions can Aurex handle?
Aurex handles the full range of product knowledge questions that arise in lighting specification and sales workflows — part number validation, fixture compatibility, configuration completion, application-based recommendations, dimensional constraints, photometric matching, dimming protocol requirements, and much more. These scenarios are just the beginning. The system is configurable to your specific workflow needs, and the performance of each capability can be tuned to match the complexity and depth of your catalog. The configuration choices themselves carry performance implications that we walk through during deployment, ensuring you get the right balance for your use case. If your team asks it, Aurex can very likely be configured to answer it.
What happens when Aurex doesn't know the answer?
If the answer to a question is not present in the uploaded catalog documents, Aurex says so directly. It does not attempt to answer from general AI knowledge or estimate from similar products. Instead, it acknowledges the limit, redirects the user to the manufacturer's support team, and recommends contacting them directly for guidance. In a sales or specification context, a confident wrong answer causes more harm than an honest acknowledgment of what isn't known.
Does Aurex learn from conversations, and is our data used to train AI models?
Aurex does not learn from individual conversations, and your catalog data is never used to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's. Your product documents remain your proprietary information and are used solely to power your deployment. Knowledge updates are made by adding or refreshing the catalog documents you provide, not through conversation-based training.
Does Aurex integrate with ordering or ERP systems?
In its base configuration, Aurex operates as a product knowledge layer — answering questions and providing validated part numbers, specs, and configurations that your team uses within their existing workflow. Custom integration with ordering systems, ERP platforms, or other internal tools is available on request and is scoped during the deployment process.
